Types of system in thermodynamics

 Types of system 

  1. OPEN SYSTEM - It is the system  which  allows both mass and energy to flow in and     out . 

           e.g :-  1. Air compressor

                     2. Turbine 

                 

        

     2.  Closed system - It is the system in which mass within the  boundary of the system remain constant  and only energy transfer may take place between the system and surroundings . 

                  e.g :-  1. Pressure cooker 

                            2. A rubber balloon filled 

                                 with air and tightlyclosed.

                            3. The gas confined between 

                                a piston and cylinder .

                                    

                             

                     

                       

     

   3. Isolated system -   It is the system that does not allow the  either  mass  or energy to or form its surroundings . 

                       e.g :- 1 . Thermos flask   

                                 2.  The universe
